What ingredients do you need to create the world? For the Yoruba in Nigeria, a chicken with five toes and a little sand is enough.
For the construction project “The World Islands” in Dubai, it had to be a little more: a financially powerful state company and 320 million cubic meters of sand.
There are two creation scenarios that are far from each other in their implementation. It is precisely this gap that Fine Bieler uses as an inspiration to think about the construction and perception of landscape, the use of natural resources and international investment bubbles. The result is a science fiction audio piece in which the narrator deals with a capitalist dream that is boycotted by nature. In the ring: Real versus Ideal Estate, within a scenery of several hundred kilograms of sand and an endless sunset.
